The first event is here! After much deliberation over dates, venues and such, the Dot Gathering is ready to host its first meeting! Sponsored by NameDrive, we’re ready to rock and roll and hope you can too!
So what’s planned?
Well I’ve been doing my best to ensure some industry professionals can attend in order to answer any questions and really touch base with new and existing internet types, including affiliates, domainers, designers and such. I’m happy to announce we’ve got one or two coming and have an exclusive VIP lounge to cater for our event.
Here’s the details…
Event Date: April 16th 2010
Time: 6pm sharp until 9pm. Onwards from there to another venue or two…or three 
Location: LuLu Nightclub (below Tigerlily Hotel), 125b George Street, EH2 4JN.
Lulu is a fantastic underground nightclub. The VIP lounge has been booked until 9pm (sorry I couldn’t get it later) and we’ll have our own barman to attend to our needs. During the evening I’d like to trial a novel idea - network-speed-dating! Every attendee will have the chance to introduce themself to another guest and have the opportunity to network. In effect there will be no dating involved, unless you really want too! I hope this will work out well as I hate attending events and leaving having only met or or two new folk when there’s thirty in the room!
Drinks deals are available, including a vodka + mixer for £1.50!

Tickets are completely free, however as the venue is small please only book a ticket if you are certain you will be able to attend.
Additional Information…
Accommodation: There’s plenty of choice and everyone can use Google I hope so I don’t think it is worthwhile recommending one or two. George Street is in the heart of the city centre so anything close to there would be perfect. Expect to pay £50+ per night.
Rail Travel: Edinburgh Waverly is your best station to exit the train. You can walk to the venue from there or simply jump in a cab.
Taxi: You can hail a Hackney (black cab) from the road or telephone a private hire company (Festival are recommended – 0131 552 1777).
